Application: PUPPY WORKSHOP – CLEAR COMMUNICATION

BEST K9 is providing a rare opportunity to work hands-on with puppies for a clear communication workshop! We will be working with a litter of GSD (German Shepherd Dog) puppies at 7 weeks of age before they go to their fur-ever homes! This workshop is available to people via application. This information is great if you already own a dog, puppy, plan to own a puppy, or work professionally with dogs.

During the workshop we will cover:

This workshop is starting from the basis of training with important fundamental education to properly work with dogs and understand the priority of timing, motivation, communication, theory of canine learning, conditioning process for dogs, the 4 quadrants of canine learning and how we apply the structure to young puppies, controlling the environment for the puppy’s success, reps in dog training, when to give them a rest, what tools they should have on, touch and feed exercise, increasing motivation, clear communication, indirect reward, release cues, markers, clickers, release stimulus, conditioned vs unconditioned response and much more.

Each working spot will receive a clicker to work with their puppies that they will be paired with. There are 2 females and 3 males and all attendee’s will receive handouts with notes. All attendee’s must bring your own note paper, something to write with and snacks. BEST K9 will provide lunch and bottled water.
