Agreement & Waver:
BK9 Board & Train Agreement
Terms and Conditions:
The Terms and Conditions for participation in any BK9 Board & Train program(s) are set out below. PARTICIPANT (referred to as “CLIENT” and/or “OWNER”) must accept these terms to secure enrollment in the program. Please read this policy carefully.
By electronically signing this agreement, CLIENT acknowledges and agrees to the following:
Responsibility and Liability:
CLIENT understands and agrees that BK9 has no control over the dog outside of training hours and will not be held liable for any injury, loss, expense, or damage caused by the dog’s actions. CLIENT agrees to indemnify and hold BK9 harmless against any claims related to the dog’s behavior.
CLIENT acknowledges that working with dogs and training them carries inherent risks, including but not limited to the risk of dog bites. CLIENT assumes responsibility for the dog’s behavior both during and after training, recognizing that all training involves ongoing management and owner involvement.
Training Techniques and Tools:
CLIENT understands and consents to the use of various training tools and techniques by BK9 for behavior modification and training, allowing BK9 to use any tools necessary to achieve optimal results for the dog’s specific needs.
Training tools may include, but are not limited to,
remote training collars, standard training collars, martingale collars, prong collars, long lines, head collars (e.g., Halti), slip leads, clickers, muzzles (if necessary), harnesses, and high-value training treats
. These tools are carefully selected to support the training goals and promote the dog’s overall well-being.
Training Continuation and Liability:
BK9 assumes no liability for any errors or omissions in the program materials or training outcomes once the dog has returned home. It is the CLIENT’s responsibility to continue the recommended practices, tools and techniques as advised by the trainer to achieve the best, lasting results.
Behavior and Termination:
BK9 is committed to providing a positive experience for CLIENT and their dog. If CLIENT becomes disruptive or fails to follow the terms of this agreement, BK9 reserves the right to terminate or suspend training services without a refund. Violations of BK9’s policies will result in immediate termination of services without a refund.
No Guarantees of Results:
CLIENT acknowledges that successful dog training requires ongoing effort, and there is no guarantee that the dog will be fully trained upon completion of the program. Training is a continuous process that requires active participation from the dog’s owner throughout its life.
Photography, Video, and Marketing:
BK9 may take photos and/or videos during training sessions for training, teaching, marketing, advertising, or other uses. By participating, CLIENT consents to the use of images and footage of the CLIENT and their dog.
Vaccination and Health Requirements:
To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, CLIENT must provide up-to-date vaccination records for rabies and certify that the dog is seasonally treated with flea and tick preventative. BK9 can provide these treatments if necessary during the dog’s stay. Copy of records may be sent to: bk9becky@gmail.com
Client Obligations for Board & Train Sessions:
CLIENT must provide an adequate supply of food for the entire training period; BK9 is equipped to store raw food.
Dogs must arrive on a secure flat or martingale collar. If a dog poses a bite risk, the CLIENT is responsible for bringing an appropriate muzzle. If CLIENT does not have one, BK9 must be informed in advance so one can be arranged.
BK9 provides beef liver treats; if the dog has allergies or dietary preferences, CLIENT must supply alternative treats.
BK9 does not require personal belongings for the dog (such as bedding or blankets), but CLIENT may bring a favorite toy or item for training motivation if desired.
Progress Updates:
BK9 provides weekly training progress updates between Wednesday and Friday. Although photos and videos may be included, they will only be captured if the dog is comfortable, as we prioritize each dog’s well-being.
