There was a heartbreaking period of uncertainty where we weren’t sure if Vykor would ever be able to work again, or even live pain-free. We shed a lot of tears during that time, fearing the worst. But through it all, we were incredibly fortunate to have a support network that was there for us every step of the way. Their presence was invaluable as we did everything possible under the vet’s guidance.
Vykor went through eight weeks of antibiotics, and his infection was severe—when a level of 30 is considered severe “requiring immediate treatment,” his levels were at 301. But surprised, we’re thrilled to have him back, pain-free, which was our immediate goal. We still have many months ahead to rebuild his muscle and help him regain the weight he lost, but the strength and tenacity Vykor has shown are nothing short of remarkable and inspiring. I’m sure his vets were as surprised as I was by his resilience.
Welcome back, my Rock Star! You mean the world to me and yes, this is him wanting to work. Retirement in his mind, wasn’t an option, because he absolutely loves this connection.
